We believe that it is the responsibility of the citizens of our nation to provide feedback to our leaders and to ensure that their voices are heard. Our leaders often are not responsive to the needs and opinions of the average American in a number of areas, including healthcare, the economy and the need — or lack of need — to wage war. We cannot elect officials and then hope that they will be effective unless we let them know what we think. Americans can work together to arrive at viable solutions to our issues if we so choose.
We welcome your comments on any of our 10 key subject areas or on any other topics that are essential to the success of our democracy. We operate on what we consider the principles that underlie the founding of our nation, which include (1) that despite our differences we can collaborate toward identifying and implementing a common vision for our nation and (2) that this vision must include recognition of the dignity of every human being. We believe that we, as a nation, can work together to bring these qualities into the everyday functioning of our country and of our lives. In the spirit of cooperation and respect, any comments that attack others will be deleted.
